Store Server

Overview

The Store Server is the control center at each region in your MOD System network. From an interactive dashboard, store associates can:

  • Program branded in-store experiences
  • Monitor status of systems, subsystems, and endpoints
  • Troubleshoot production and fulfillment issues
  • Host e-commerce transactions

Store software resembles that of the Corporate Server with an extensible, web-based administrative dashboard. Its capabilities and interfaces are scaled and branded to your needs, and you decide whether Store Server integration requires that associates use the local interface.

You can access Store Server administrative features by using any endpoint console.

Sell Digital Media

The Store Server encompasses all media fulfillment duties including payment processing and rights management.

Customers on a local network (wired or wireless) use touchscreen or other customized endpoints to select digital media. Purchased content is burned to a CD or downloaded to a portable device.

Store kiosks can provide fulfillment services including credit card swipes and barcode scanning. Other in-store transaction options include micropayments, affinity cards, and point-of-sale integration.

Store Server fulfillment channels can be configured to extend branding and build customer relationships.

Present Creative Content

As company business rules dictate, you can use the store dashboard and publishing application to fine-tune in-store programming.

Local administrators can schedule in-store and endpoint content experiences including:

overhead display
  • Promotional media
  • Categories and mixes
  • Editorial features
  • Overhead playlists
  • Attract loops
  • Display loops
  • Digital signage
  • Banner advertisements
The Store Server can be configured so that corporate scheduling overrides local control, or vice versa.

Import and Export Digital Media

The Store Server handles the local media inventory.

MOD Media Management System

Content is ingested at the Corporate Server, which exports new and updated content and metadata plus scheduling and programming to the Store Servers for publication. In-store administrators can view media inventory and import discrete media locally
from CDs.

In each region, a robust flagship Store Server holds a large catalog-say, a million titles-of tracks and metadata. The flagship can funnel data to satellite stores, where customers can review the whole catalog.

Store Servers manage customer usage and sales data, and export that data to the Corporate Server for use in royalty reporting and other accounting functions.
