Bridging Instore to Online

In addition to giving consumers the ability to purchase or rent from a huge assortment of always-in-stock new release and catalog movies, TV programs, and music tracks through a self-serve kiosk experience, MOD Systems is teaming with industry frontrunners and partners to give retailers an easy way to add an online component to their offering.

Soon, purchases made at a kiosk will be available online. Customers who buy content at retail will receive a copy of their purchases in a cloud-based “digital locker” for streaming or download later for use on a broad range of Internet-enabled devices.

With many options for customers to access and enjoy digital entertainment content, the combined instore and “in the cloud” locker solution will be the bridge that gives them easy and convenient access to movies and TV shows whether instore, online, at home or on the go.

MOD Systems and Sonic Solutions recently announced a strategic partnership that intends to arm retailers with a complete, multi-platform system for digitally delivering premium entertainment. Retailers would be able to provide customers with convenient instore and connected-device options for purchasing digital movies and television titles that could be easily accessed and enjoyed from a wide range of devices including PCs, laptops, Blu-ray Disc players, HDTVs, and smart phones.
