MOD Systems CEO to Present at Digital Hollywood Spring

Anthony Bay to Discuss Retail’s Role in the Future of Personalized Entertainment
April 29th, 2009 - Seattle

MOD Systems®, an industry-leading provider of digital media delivery systems for retailers, today announced Chairman and CEO Anthony Bay will participate in a panel entitled "Content Delivery, Rich Media, IPTV and Internet Connectivity - Enabling the Connected Broadband and TV Universe," at Digital Hollywood Spring in Santa Monica, CA. Joining Bay on the panel will be executives from YouTube/Google, Verizon Communications, EdgeCast Networks, Widevine, HP and Sun Microsystems.

The "Enabling the Connected Broadband and TV Universe" panel will be held on Thursday, May 7, 2009 at 9:30 a.m. Pacific at the Loews Santa Monica Beach Hotel.

In this panel, experts will discuss how new consumer technologies are shaping the next wave of personal entertainment. For example, personalized TV is poised to forever change the entertainment landscape by giving consumers greater control over where, when and how they find, view, save and share programming. Powerful retail and in-home digital delivery mechanisms will give consumers ubiquitous access to a wide library of content, enabling them to better personalize their purchases. Meanwhile, new initiatives aimed at content compatibility and portability will enable consumers to enjoy their content on their home, automotive, and portable entertainment systems.

Bay co-founded MOD Systems in 2005 and has more than 25 years of executive expertise, technology management and private-venture investor experience. Previously, he served as the Executive Chairman of Loudeye Corporation, acquired by Nokia in 2006 to power Nokia's global music service.  Prior to joining Loudeye, Bay created the Digital Media Division at Microsoft where he served as Corporate Vice President and General Manager and a member of Microsoft's Executive Staff. He also previously spent 8 years with Apple Computer.

MOD Systems enables retailers to deliver digital entertainment to consumers using interactive self-service kiosks for downloading music and movies to portable devices and Secure Digital (SD) cards. MOD Systems' growing entertainment catalog includes nearly 4,000 independent and major video titles and nearly 4 million music tracks. The catalog is part of the MOD Retail Enterprise System, which handles all aspects of securing, ingesting and fulfilling digital content in retail stores. With digital distribution, retailers are empowered to fill customer needs at the point of sale while eliminating the need to order, stock or return traditional pre-packaged media.
