Mark Phillips

Mark Phillips, CEO, CTO and Co-Founder

Mark Phillips, CEO and CTO of MOD Systems, holds nine years senior management and engineering experience developing and successfully bringing to market mobile and digital media enterprise software solutions. Phillips co-founded the company in 2005 with the vision to create a complete ecosystem for retailers to profitably manage, merchandise, and deliver digital media to customers.

Prior to MOD Systems, Phillips served as CTO and Senior Vice President of Research and Development for Fullplay Media Systems, Inc., where he directed the company's technical vision and engineering initiatives, developed intellectual properties, and structured strategic customer relationships.

Phillips earned his B.A. in Comparative History of Ideas, with a minor in Architecture Design, from the University of Washington. He studied Computer Science his senior year while working at the University of Washington Human Interface Technologies Lab, where he also served as a Developer. After school, he founded Oo-moja Software, and also worked for MetaBridge, Inc., a software company. He later served as a Senior Software Engineer and Developer for software company Saltmine Creative, Inc.

Phillips has participated in the development of more than 35 products.

He is an active member of the University of Washington's Advisory Board for Embedded Systems. He's also a member of the American Electronics Association, Alliance of Angels, and is an active angel investor in the Keiretsu Forum.

Phillips' personal interests include robotics, investing, traveling, reading, charity, fencing, snowboarding, exercising, and flying. He has been an entrepreneur since grade school.
