David Hostetter
David Hostetter Vice President of Program and Project ManagementAs VP of Program and Project Management, David drives MOD's product vision and manages the operations, technical deployment and product management teams. His teams create user experiences focusing on simplicity and client and partner integration. David also plays a critical role in defining the DRM technology strategy MOD will support in future generations of the service and software.
Prior to joining MOD, David was Managing Partner at Competency Culture Consulting where he worked with numerous startups to implement best practices including SDLC and development processes, bug tracking (JIRA, Confluence and BugZilla), and build solid product planning. These startups included Home Automation solutions (using ZigBee), Business Intelligence (BI) services and Ad serving as examples.
David also spent several years at Loudeye, including his last role as Executive Vice President/CTO at Loudeye, where he managed worldwide operations and teams including Program Management, Product Management, Test/Quality Assurance, Design, Editorial/Production, and Release Management. Loudeye provided digital media solutions including encoding services, content protection, audio samples service, mobile solutions and full Music Store Platforms.
He also spent almost 12 years at Microsoft, where he helped design the company's automated system for updates for the metadata services. He holds patents for metadata delivery and has helped develop the current Windows Media Series player metadata services and data service for Infocenter views. Before his work in the metadata space, David served as the Program Manager for Microsoft's Windows Media Rights Manager SDK, and also managed the technical relationships with NCR, Silicon Graphics and Microsoft during the late nineties. Prior to Microsoft, David worked at Litton Laser Systems which designs laser guidance systems.
David received his Bachelor of Science degree in Industrial and Systems Engineering from the University of Florida, Gainesville.
